Research interests:

I am a physical scientist mainly interested in continental deformation, tsunamis, fluid mechanics and earth’s recent climate. I do both kinematic and dynamic modelling using GPS other space-geodetic data and I tried to incorporate faulting and earthquake information in these models. My interest on Tsunamis and water waves are, in general, in the field of mathematical modelling (both analytical and numerical). But I try to incorporate as much geological and marine geophysical in informations as possible to be able to reconstruct realistic scenarios. I and my colleague Nazmi Postacioglu recently constructed a modal model for Tsunami edge waves that could eventually find applications on storm surges. I recently started to work on holocene climatic records from a statistical and information-theoretic perspective.
